Hello, Aborn artists!

Are you saying your mantra? Remember, I am positive... I am creative... I am respectful... I am an artist! Tell your family what this means and why we say it every art class. I miss you and your beautiful artwork! I know you are missing the Art Cart and all the goodies it brings, but I hope you've found ways to continue being creative with whatever you have at home. For example, one sunny day my kids and I arranged rocks and sticks outside, for fun. We also cut cereal boxes into shapes and make 2D and 3D art on a colder day. Once I looked through my daughter's bookshelf and was inspired to read this book to you and make drawings from it. Check out my new YouTube channel:

Shape drawing lesson based on Color Zoo by Lois Ehlert (grades K-2)

Meet Elliott and Tessa! My children help me read the book Color Zoo by Lois Ehlert, then Elliott and I show you how to draw animals using simple shapes.

It is not perfect, but I am learning something new! You will probably have some tips for me to improve my videotaping skills, yes? I would like to see your creative work; please send me pictures or tell me about it via bornek@lynnschools.org.

Happy creating!

Love,

Ms. Borne

Dear Fifth Grade students

Hi, how are my cherubs doing? I miss our days together and seeing your smiling faces. Miss hearing your morning greetings, “How your day going?”(Josiah H), “How’s your morning been so far?”(Mark), and “Have a great day!”. I miss our conversations and your stories too. I would love to hear from you either by email, which I can respond to, or write a letter, mail it to the school, and I will have something wonderful to look forward to upon our return to school. 😊

I have been busy reading a book, on my 2nd book, reading and answering parents’ questions, writing postcards to each of you, the 1st batch was sent out, creating activities we can do upon our return, and helping Hallie with her remote learning activities too. If you have any suggestions for remote learning activities, please email me at: samuelsons@lynnschools.org

To Mrs. Gagner’s students,

Hi kids! I hope everyone is staying safe at home with your families. Try to get outside for some fresh air at least once a day if it is nice weather.

I have been busy at home with my 3 boys, helping them practice their reading and math. Also,  they have a  daily chore to do in the house. And then we play games, go for walks, cook, bake, or do arts and crafts.

Try to not worry, just spend time with your family. Read together, talk, and play. We are all in this together.

Love, Mrs. Gagner

Saying hello to all of you!

Hope you are all doing well. I am keeping very busy around my house by cleaning, cooking, organizing things, reading, playing and taking walks with my grandchildren and daughters. My cats, Chip and Dale are enjoying all the extra attention. Keep up with daily reading, playing board games and going outside for some fresh air and exercise. I especially hope that the students with Imagine Learning, System 44 and Read 180 licenses are able to use it at home. I will be happy to get back to our routine and see you all soon! If I can help in any way or if you have questions, email me at: hamelersm@lynnschools.org

Hi Kiddos!

Hope you are all doing well and staying safe! As for me...? I've been keeping pretty busy with house projects such as painting, cleaning and organizing. I think about you all the time and actually miss being in the classroom with you all! I know that staying in for long periods of time can become challenging, so I hope you're finding plenty of ways to keep yourselves busy! Remember to read every day, practice your math facts and help your parents out whenever and wherever you can.  By the way...I think now would also be an opportune time to keep a journal about your experiences at home during these unusual times in our history, huh?? I am!

Remember to stay well and I look forward to seeing you all very soon!

XOXO

Hello Room 7,

I miss you all and hope that you are all doing well. I have been checking our learning sites and see that a lot of you have been hard at work. If you haven't been on yet that is OK, but I hope you will at some point get on and check out what I have left you. All the teachers have been busy uploading resources for you. Remember you can work on any work under Mrs. Sheehan's name, my name, or Grade Four on the Aborn Resource Page. I know some Social Studies Activities were recently uploaded. I am also looking at signing up up for a new interactive site that my friend uses with her students be on the look out for the link, usernames, and passwords.

If you can't get online that is OK, there are plenty of things you can do without a computer. Read a story or poem aloud to a family member, read silently to yourself.  There are lots of things you can do!!

As for me I keep myself busy looking for activities and websites for you guys. I have also started video recording myself reading my favorite chapter book Because of Mr. Terupt. I have to admit that this make me nervous because it is something I have never done before.  You should check it out and join the dollar word challenge I have left. I also make sure I get some sort of exercise in everyday. You know how much I love exercise. I have also have been writing letters to you guys, so make sure you are checking your mail for them. I would love it if you emailed me back at marrena@lynnschools.org I would love to hear what you have been up to. At night my family and I watch TV, work on puzzles, or I read.

Look forward to hearing from all of you and I hope we are together soon.

Love,

Miss Marren

Hello my little friends,
I miss you so much! I hope you all are working hard on your packets! Some of the assignments say to listen to the story first. If you go to YouTube and type the name of the story, I bet you can find someone to read it to you. Author Suzanne Bloom reads her story The Bus For Us! I hope you are practicing reading as well as naming shapes!
I have been walking and running a lot around the Aborn neighborhood. And making sure Jack and Connor do their school work, too. I'll be dropping off another packet soon. Take care polar bear!
Scooby Doo......I love you. Thanks for coming to the school blog today.

I hope you and your family are safe and healthy.  I miss seeing your smiles every day and hearing about your lives.  I hope you are using your time to read and practice math.  It makes me smile to see some of you are going onto our different learning websites.  I hope even if you aren’t able to get onto the websites, you are able to work on reading and math, and you are enjoying the mild March weather and are getting outside.

Molly says hi to you guys and check out Lilian giving her Aborn “Hoot” under Grade Level Resources – Videos and Pictures.

Hello, friends! A lot has changed since I last saw you.  One thing that hasn't changed is that I have been reading and writing daily!  I hope you have, too.  🙂  Reading is the most important thing that you can do each day!  I've been reading to my rabbit, Sebastian, and my cat, Storm, as well as silently.  Remember that if you use System 44 or Read 180, there are hundreds of books for you to read online.

However you're reading, keep it up!  I'm proud of your at-home efforts and miss seeing your smiling faces! 😍  Stay well, Ms. Bannister

Hello Second Grade Friends!

Mrs. Rubalcava is missing her second graders terribly. I hope everyone is doing well. Since we have been given some unexpected time off, I hope that my friends continue to practice what we have learned in our class this year. Most importantly I want you to read, read, read! I will be creating some videos (with the help of my own children) of me reading some of my favorite stories. I hope you all enjoy them!

With the help of a family member, maybe you can send me an e-mail letting me know how you are doing. It would make me very happy to hear from my superstar second graders!

Please remember to listen to your family member, and to be kind to those in your home. I hope to see you all very soon! 😊

Hello Room 2,

I am missing you all very much.  I hope you are all doing well.  Please continue to read everyday.  Remember to practice your math facts...10 plus and 10 minus.

I have been busy playing with my puppy, Rylee, and trying to train her to stop jumping on my furniture.  It's not working.  She is jumping over everything.

Hope to see you all soon.

Stay in touch
